The Biolix™ process involves the aerobic biological treatment of oil and grease. It relies on the growth of an appropriate biomass, which can biodegrade such a substrate to produce sludge and CO₂.

Grease trapped from the grit/grease separator or from an external source is deteriorated in an aerated and mixed tank.
