Exelys™ is an innovative technology that represents the next generation of thermal biosolid hydrolysis.
Thermal biosolid has been recognized as one of the most effective ways to enchance biogas production and solids destruction while reducing consumption.
Through its innovative design and continous operational configuration, ExelysTM is the ideal solution to treat all types of sludges whether primary, secondary, mixed, or predigested. The process allows sludge dryness between 20 and 30%.
The process includes:
- a standard sludge pump supplying continuously the thermal hydrolysis reactor at a pressure of about 10 bar,
- a direct steam injection in the dewatered sludge to be heated to about 160 ° C,
- an insulated reactor tube where the heated sludge flows at very low speed for about 30 minutes,
- a heat exchanger for cooling the hydrolyzed sludge prior its discharge from the reactor,
- a stage where dilution water is added to the cooling hydrolyzed sludge to get it at the atmospheric pressure
Applications
ExelysTM can be implemented in new or existing installations. To better fit your needs, the process is available in two configurations:
Configuration DL
The most economical in terms of investment
ExelysTM is installed in a recirculation system associated with a sludge digester.
Configuration DLD
The most economical in terms of operation cost
The process includes a first digester to remove the easy biodegradable part of the sludge, a thermal hydrolysis operating in a continuous mode (ExelysTM) plus a second digester operating at a high concentration
