Natrix™

Applications

Many Natrix™ wastewater treatment plants are operated as a single stage process. For some wastewaters, optimal solutions may require more than one MBBR unit. When very strict discharge limits are employed, a two-stage process is usually preferred since it enhances the overall efficiency.

Further stages may in some cases be beneficial, for example when the wastewater contains a more recalcitrant substance that need to be taken care of.

Examples of pollutants that need a very specific bacterial flora to be degraded is the chelating agent EDTA and a multi-stage Natrix™ process is a prerequisite to also target EDTA in the treatment process.
